Trails at Tuttle ESF


Long Demonstration Trail has demonstrations and signs to show and guide you through Forest Management practices.
Length – 2 miles
Difficulty – Moderate
Walking Time – 1 to 1.5 hours

Gravel Road starts at the end of the parking lot and meanders through the forest which leads to the back of the property and loops back into itself.
Length – 1.5 miles each way
Difficulty – Moderate
Walking Time – 1.5 to 2 hours

Fire Line Trail started as a Fire Line created to conduct understory burning on the forest which is essential to forest/wildlife management and forest protection against unwanted wildfires.
Length – .7 miles
Difficulty – Moderate
Walking Time – 1 hour

Talking Tree Trail is a popular trail with seven common forest trees which tell you of their history, uses, and other facts about themselves.
Length – .6 miles
Difficulty – Easy to Moderate
Walking Time – .75 hour

Gazebo Trail branches off the Long Demo Trail and ends at the Gazebo hill with majestic views of Grandfather, Grandmother, and Brown Mountains.
Length – .4 miles
Difficulty – Easy to Moderate
Walking Time – .5 hour

Old Sleepy Hollow Trail makes a loop off the Long Demo Trail that takes you near the site of the Old Sleepy Hollow School. A one room school that was operated on the Tuttle property.
Length – .4 miles
Difficulty – Easy
Walking Time – .5 hour

Shortcut Trail cuts off a portion of the Long Demo Trail and takes you through beautiful hardwoods and ends back onto the Long Demo Trail.
Length – .2 miles
Difficulty – Moderate to Strenuous
Walking Time – .5 hour
